Our communities rely on each of us to get involved and give back. Starting in 2018, it was made easier than ever for our employees. I'm proud of our benefit, which gives every employee 16 paid hours away from work annually to volunteer.
The team attended Pedal for a Cause, orchestrated by CureBound, a San Diego-based philanthropic organization that raises and invests strategic funding in translational cancer research projects, a signature event, in partnership with the San Diego Padres, Padres Pedal the Cause.
Big Slick KC Celebrity Softball Tournament
Ashline Financial team member, Kelly Albers and her family volunteered their time at the Big Slick KC Celebrity Softball Tournament in June of 2022. Scott Ashline and Kelly Albers are both donors to this cause. Big Slick raises money and awareness for the Children’s Mercy Hospital. Over the years, the attention that Big Slick has brought to Children's Mercy has helped with their recruiting efforts attracting top medical and research talent. Big Slick also helped to expose an even larger audience to the nationally recognized work being done at Children's Mercy. Children’s Mercy is a leading independent children’s health organization dedicated to holistic care, translational research, educating caregivers and breakthrough innovation to create a work of well-being for all children. Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to serve more than 25,000 youth and their families in the greater San Diego region. After school and day camp programs include the arts, recreation, character development and youth sports leagues.
Scott was presented the Community Service Award by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation for his contributions to the Boys and Girls Club. In honor of this recognition, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation awarded the Boys and Girls Club a $10,000 grant.
National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA, San Diego)
Scott is a current member of NAIFA. In the past, Scott has also been President and Vice President of Government Relations. NAIFA is a national nonprofit organization representing the interests of more than 70,000 insurance and financial advisors nationwide, through its federation of over 900 state and local associations. Founded in 1890, NAIFA is the nation's largest financial services membership association.
International Tax Institute
Scott has been a long time sponsor of The USD School of Law-Procopio International Tax Institute Conference. This conference draws reputable and internationally recognized leaders and experts in the field of international tax law to provide new and relevant developments in the U.S., Mexican and Canadian international tax law arena.
San Diego County Bar Foundation
Scott has been a sponsor of the San Diego County Bar Foundation. This Foundation is the charitable arm of the San Diego County Bar Association. The Foundation’s mission is to provide access to justice by investing in sustainable results and advocacy for people and communities in our region that are impacted by poverty, abuse and discrimination.
Nativity School
Scott was a past member of the Parent Board of Directors that advise on school policy. This board is specifically responsible for all the budgeting and fundraising efforts.
YMCA
The YMCA engages more than 10,000 neighborhoods across the U.S. It is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations committed to helping people and communities. The YMCA’s goal is to give everyone the opportunity to become healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
Entrepreneurs Organization (EO)
Scott is a current member of EO. EO is an organization for entrepreneurs only and has a global network of more than 8,000 business owners in 40 countries. Founded in 1987 by a group of young entrepreneurs, EO is the catalyst that enables entrepreneurs to learn and grow from each other, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal life. Membership in one of EO’s 120 chapters is by invitation only.
